Author's notes(if any): in this set of ficlets the reports of an individual’s demise in a movie were greatly exaggerated.

Colson looked around the table overloaded food with all the Avengers, Jane, Pepper, Darcy, and Xander could eat. He had seen photos of Xander with warnings of dangerous, protected, and second to the individual in charge of the Watchers Council, an individual known only as Giles. If pressed Colson would admit he was expecting a male Black Widow, not this goofing off, scruffy, couch surfer. He had made an appointment to speak to Xander after dinner and was looking forward to finely getting some answers.

The mountain of food was slowly shrinking as everyone ate and during a lull in the multiple conversations going on a phone loudy rang. Darcy and Xander jumped up and searched for their phones. Nearly simultaneously they found and answered their calls.

“What’s going on?”

“Who’s hurt?”

Trying to keep up with both conversations everyone was silent, curious to what the panic was about. Why did Darcy start by asking who was hurt when Xander started with a status request?

Darcy was pacing into the kitchen around the table and back when Xander sat down nearly missing his chair until Thor pushed it under him as nodded to whatever the person on the other end of the call said.

Ending his call Xander sighed as he looked at Darcy. “She’s on talking to Sarah. Alley and Bryson both got hurt tonight. Bryson has a bad concussion and Alley has a couple of broken bones and is unconcious.”

“What happened? Where are they?” Steve asked.

“It was supposed to be a routine night at work but they got caught in the middle of what looks to be a turf war. They’re in a little town outside London in a hospital.” Xander explained.

“Xander! Can Willow?” Darcy suddenly asked.

“No. She’s wiped out and wont be able to do anything for a while.”

“What about the….”

“It’s a one way thing unless Willow was here to change it.” Xander sadly explained interrupting Darcy’s question.

“Alley you know if I could I would. Right. Oh! Xander call the airport and get tickets. Hopefully we can get a flight soon.” As Darcy left the room everyone heard her sniffling.

“What’s the nearest international airport near here?” Xander asked starting to tap on his phone nodding when Clint answered him. “I’m sticking her ticket on my work credit card and Sue Ann in payroll can stick it. Come on earliest most direct flight I can get.”

The table was silent as everyone watched Xander scroll on his cell phone screen with one had as he reached for his walled and pulled out a credit card.

“Xander, we’ll take her.” Pepper said.

“To the airport? That will be great. Thanks. That will help a lot. I wound up here without my passport and won’t be able to travel with her.” Xander said as he typed on his phone.

Seeing Pepper’s confused face Steve said, “I don’t think that’s what Pepper means Xander.”

“Huh?”

“Tony has a plane. We’ll take that. When she’s ready to go we can leave.”

One long flight, a tense cab ride, and a slow elevator ride later Darcy was running down the hospital hallway to a similar looking girl who stepped out of a room.

Seeing the girls hug then go back into the room Pepper leaned into Tony. “Thanks for suggesting the jet. I know you had that meeting somewhere later today you had in the opposite direction.”

“This was worth it. And I figured if we didn’t offer the jet Thor would end up flying her here his self.” Pepper said as they walked to a bench in the hallway.

Edit - Switched Sarah and Alley's names because I noticed I said Alley was both unconscious and talking on the phone at the same time.
