“Sir, we should be leaving now.”

John didn’t look toward Mycroft’s assistant knowing that as soon as she spoke she would have disappeared out of site. Mycroft had very similar expressions and John was not about to tell either one that; especially their ‘I don’t want to but I guess I have to because I know I’ll lose if I fight about it again’ face. “Don’t want to go someplace?”

Mycroft sighed. “It’s no use getting there on time because they will make us wait and I have to meet with an absolute arrogant arse. I hate meeting with the toad Travers.”

“From you Mycroft that’s really… you really don’t like them.” John said deciding he didn’t want to know who Mycroft was meeting with that had so much power they made Mycroft wait and cause that strong of a reaction.

Stepping out of his car Mycroft allowed his gaze to slowly travel across the front of the relocated Council offices. His security teams hadn’t been able to gather much information about the building mostly just photos of the exterior.

“Are you Mr. Holmes?”

Mycroft angled his head to look at the young woman standing on the lawn looking at him. “I am.”

“Giles said to show you to Xander’s workshop.” The girl said walking toward the large building. Mycroft followed her through the doors and the to the back of the house where a large functional shop area was located with a door large enough for a truck to use for loading or unloading.

“Xander! Giles! Mr. Holmes is here. You want some tea?”

“That would be lovely April.” A man slightly older than Mycroft said stepping out from behind a large shelf full of carefully organized lumber. “Mr. Holmes it a pleasure to meet you. I am Rupert Giles.”

“Mr. Giles, nice to meet you. If Mr. Travers is cancelling on me you can go ahead and say so instead of wasting time trying to make me happy.” Mycroft said thinking that Travers had cancelled again but gave the task of telling him to someone who had angered him for some reason.

“Travers? Cancelling? Maybe because a case of the deads.” A younger mans voice carried from somewhere in the workshop.

“Xander hush. Mr. Travers died in the explosion a little over a year ago and I am no in charge of The Council. Xander might end up being in charge of North America by the time April brings the tea if he doesn’t be quiet.”

A thump clatter echoed before a young man in a bright floral shirt stomped out of the room. “Shutting up now and going to get some cookies. Nice to meetcha Holmes.”

“Xander keeps some comfortable furniture over here for me when I need to work uninterrupted. Thank you for agreeing to meet with me. I do hope that we can get along better than Travers.” Giles said showing Mycoft over to the pair of comfortable chairs framing a nice table perfect for an afternoon cup of tea.

“I do believe we might be able to Mr. Giles.”

“Oh, Giles. I’ve been called Giles for so long at times it seems like they have forgotten the mister and the Rupert parts of my name.” Giles said sitting down.

“Nice to meet you Giles. I’m Mycroft.”
