Sandy Olsen (Grease)
Pouting wasn't really in her nature, no matter how much she might want to, and she'd already come to accept the fact that her parents were doing what they thought best. She didn't agree with them and hated the idea of being half a world away from home, but her chance to avoid this fate had come and gone. Now, she could only pray her friend remained safe in her Calling and the monsters she would meet.
Sandy knew when her mother found her patching up her friend that they would be in trouble. The fact that Sandy, in her trusting way, had believed that her mother would understand about the vampires, demons and whatnot. After all, hadn't her parents always been there for her, told her she could talk to them about anything?
She'd been wrong. Apparently, 'everything' only included normal things - boys, school, clothing, etc.
When she continued to insist upon there being other things out there, her parents brought her to a psychiatrist. The doctor had, at first, wanted to have her committed, but later relented and diagnosed female hysteria. Her grandmother had told them 'hogwash' and recommended getting Sandy away for a while.
Well, apparently her parents' idea of 'away' included sending her to her cousins in America as soon as school let out.
She'd barely had time to catch her breath before her parents were putting her suitcases in the car and heading toward the airport.
On the bright side, she'd be getting away from the winter here and have the joy of experiencing an entire summer in America, but she also knew she would be missing her friends. Thank goodness for Air Mail, at least she would be able to keep up on the latest and make sure her friends stayed alive.
Glancing at the commotion down the corridor from where her family waited for her plane, Sandy couldn't help the wistful thought that maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to find a cute American boy to have a little fun with on the beach.
