"Victoria !!" Laharl called on its way to the Portal of Teleportation
"Yes, Your Highness ?" said the young cleric responsible for the Portal as she appeared suddenly in front of her Overlord.
"Ah, you're here ! Do zombies have been here recently ?"
"No, Your Highness. At least not since I keep the Portal. May I ask why the question ?"
"His pets were missing and he believed he was being robbed of them," Laharl said, showing Aramis who had followed him here with Etna.
"That makes sense. If they are not in our Makai, it means they have changed of Dimension ... and since the zombies are incapable to create Portals... this means that someone else has 'helped' them," retorted quite dryly Etna to Laharl.
"Pff ... Well Victoria, are there many people that can open Portals big enough to make travel approximatively twenty zombies ?"
"Not to my knowledge, but it is a quite rare art. Those who can open Portals tend not to shout this information from the rooftops."
"I see. This means that there is no way to recover them ? Can you identify in which universe his pets were sent ? Aramis likes them much. He would really to like recover them."
"Well, I can always check ..."
"It is possible ?"
"Yes but it is very long process. I should open a Portal in each dimension I know, before sending a probe to identify if a Portal was open, and who or what took it."
"Hmm ... go ahead, it's not like they were another way to find them."
"Yes Your Highness," replied the young demoness before beginning her work on the Portal of the Castle.
"Etna ! Tell at your prinny to prepare something to eat, we might have to wait a moment," he concludes by sitting to wait that the Guardian have a result... and finish his nap.
"Yes Prince !" Etna said happily.
Sunnydale, California, Earth.
Frantic blows were hear at the door while Giles took his tea quietly.
'Sweet Hellmouth,' he said to himself, 'what Buffy has again done as idiocy?'
Standing with a resigned sigh, he headed for the door before to snap it.
Expecting to see Willow and Xander carrying again a wounded Buffy, for having launched head first into trouble, he was extremely surprised to see that it was Buffy, but alone and in one piece only.
"Buffy ? Is there a reason why you hammer on my door at 1am ?" he asked after throwing a quick glance at his watch to check the hour.
'Ah, mystery solved,' he thought as she passed in front of him to enter and that he felt the strong odor of alcohol around her.
"Yes there is a reason ... a very large and very ugly reason..."
"Buffy," he tried to intervene.
"... you should have to see them, they are horrible ... monstrous ..."
"Buffy," he said a little more curtly.
"... despicable ... an atrocious color ... and these sounds ..."
"BUFFY !!" he ends up saying in a shouting and authoritative voice to regain control of the conversation.
"Yes ?" she murmured, eyes slightly vague, as if she was shocked.
"What are you talking about ?" he finally questioned.
"But zombies, of course !" she exclaimed, apparently regaining his senses. "Zombies invade Sunnydale.. This is a disaster, they will ransack the shops of downtown, we need to do something !"
