I'm with Joyce. I would be very NOT happy to be referred to as a pet. Her adherence to science doesn't surprise me given her nature and her previous experiences that she can't remember. It also explains why she was so resistant to Buffy's explanations as an adult.

Hopefully this annoying person who should be food for the Slayer scythe will actually give them the answers they need.

This isn't the first time some alien woman has called Joyce a 'pet'. Of course, she doesn't remember the first time (It was Missy) and the other (by a Goa'uld) hasn't happened yet in her personal timeline.
