Not a sad ending. (I've only seen the 1st season of Miraculous Ladybug... so I'm not sure what happened between Chat Noir and Ladybug/Marinette in later seasons but throwing Buffy into the mix here seems to work.)

Thanks! I've only seen random episodes from the seasons, so I don't have a good read on the story continuity. My feeling is this would be very AU and unlikely to happen. Pretty sure in canon Ladybug/Marinette and Chat Noir/Adrien are supposed to eventually end up together.
