"Your zodiac sign hasn't changed" is essentially "We've been using confusing terminology all along and we'll continue to use confusing terminology, so don't worry your little head about it." Good read: Wikipedia's article about precession.
Back in 1970 a book called Astrology 14 was published that added not only Ophiuchus, but also Cetus as astrological signs. You can see how successful that was.
And what does it say about me, I wonder, that the first link I click was the one about spacing after periods?
I only managed to break myself of the habit when texting and using facebook. I found myself double spacing and using up valuable character space, then going back and removing them. I definitely still do it when writing longer pieces. I learned to type on a manual typewriter with a Catholic Nun standing over me. That's a hard "habit" to break, pun only somewhat intended.
I love reading the comments on the Slate article where everyone schools him for inaccuracies, not even reading the links he supplies, and being a troll.

Much more effective solution.
I got hit, (while walking as a pedestrian) in a Ralphs parking lot. Came at me sideways, backing out of parking spot. To let him know, (and more importantly fend off his 700 series BMW), I used my steel toe boot, on the quarter panel, that actually hit me.
Hard enough to compress it in, 5 inches, and make a dent 18 inches around. Maybe I over reacted a bit.
But I gave him the option, of walking away, with a smile, or me filing a claim that he hit a pedestrian in a parking lot. Phone in hand, dialing 911.

He chose to not press the issue...
