I spent my Halloween weekend (it's apparently a weekend now) at Tokyo Disney Resort. For two weeks of the year, they allow everyone to cosplay Disney characters, and I wanted to go check out the spectacle

So interesting to read all the rules, as they're slightly different at Disneyland in California. You're allowed to dress up as anyone and the main rules of not covering your face or bringing weapons are the most focused on. I like the idea of only Disney characters though!

Woah that's bizarre! Seeing characters from other franchises would completely take me out of the Disney magic mood, I think!

My pictures sort of fail to capture the inclusive nature of the cosplay scene over here too, which is annoying. There was so much crossplay, girls posing as boys, boys posing as girls... it was awesome! Also lots of groups of little old ladies dressed up as all the villains. So amazing!

Comic Con is coming to Japan for the first time this year, and they have attracted some negative attention lately because their cosplay rules state that guys can't dress up as girls!!!! I'm so happy that despite all the rules at Disney, they allow everyone to play around freely within that ruleset. Boys can be princesses if they want to!

The parks had such a fun atmosphere that whole weekend. It was part geek convention, part magical, and 100% Disney. It was perfect.

I love this post! Mostly because I find cosplay endlessly fascinating.

I was about to ask if you saw any Kingdom Hearts cosplay and then I saw one in your picture. I saw one guy with a Keyblade in Florida when I was there and I saw one or two Incredibles families but the party in American isn't anywhere near like this one.

I do tooooo! I wish I could sew, but I know I don't have the patience for it. I tried making a camp fire cape thing (it was part of our girl scout wear) when I was in secondary school, and it took me several weeks.
