One of my favourite things about life in Tokyo is how easy it is to escape the city and go explore the countryside, without needing to rent a carJust train hopping and getting off at random stations is sure to lead to interesting experiences. That roller slide looks both amazing and terrifying. I want to ride it ... but only after someone else survives! (can it even fit an adult sized person?)

I love that last photo, it just looks like something that would start scurrying after you once your back was turned.

As always, thank you for sharing these lovely photos! I will get to Japan one day, but until now, this will have to satisfy me. :)

Christian had been to Kasama earlier this spring, though I forget exactly how he heard of the place. I think a flyer about the sculpture forest???? I completely forget, either way, he came back all ecstatic telling me I had to go too some time.

We have also gone on trips where we just look at the map and pick out a place that looks interesting. Usually along the coast, though. It's never disappointed so far!
