Let's Walking!

Mar 08, 2016 22:50

Phew! I sort of wish there was a thing in Google Maps that automatically drew a map of your walking routes, it would be interesting to look at! (... though terrible because of obvious privacy reasons 8DDD).

In any case, today was a day of walking! I set out wanting to explore my neighbourhood, I guess, but I ended up doing like a workout style ( Read more... )

There's an app called Map My Run, it shows you where you've walked and how far, so maybe that would be something you're looking for?

Tokyo looks and sounds gorgeous. So glad you're having a good time!

Google Maps will keep track of your whereabouts if you turn on Location History:
https://www.google.com/maps/timeline

It's only visible to you.

Hahah yikes. It seems I have deactivated this feature. Honestly, I wouldn't really want Google maps to keep track of my whereabouts. :S such a privacy violation!

Sounds like a lovely introductory walk around town. :) Your map reminds me of the old Family Circus comics, did you ever see those?

How much of a time difference is it from Norway to Japan?

Glad you had a good customer service experience to balance out that rotten one.

:D I am not! But googling it, I can see what you mean! XD;

It's 8 hours difference right now. Japan doesn't observe daylight savings, so it'll either be 7 or 9 whenever Norway does their thing with the one hour difference (whenever that is ....).

If Norway is the same as the UK, DST happens on March 27th (I randomly had a question at the library about this yesterday LOL!)

That was so nice of the cashier to figure all of that out for you! It's so rare anyone cares that much when you're at a store :)

Well it's not that rare here, I guess, but yes! I've never experienced anything like that in Norway XD The closest thing would be when cashiers at gaming stores start mansplaining gaming consoles to me (ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THE 3DS VERSION, THO????? YOU'RE NOT MIXING IT UP WITH THE DS??????). Which has happened more than once. They do that check here as well, but it's more a control question than anything else ("This is for the 3DS, is that OK?") - and they do it to every customer and about games for every gaming system. It's all in the way it's presented and phrased, if you only ask girls or parents and only maybe 30 % of the time, it's condescending, not customer service :P This is what Norway can't understand for some reason.
