Belated Oscars Reaction Post

Did anyone else watch the Oscars? I haven't had this much fun watching the Oscars in years. Chris Rock was a fantastic host, he pushed all the right buttons. I love, love, loved it! Leo finally got his award, Ennio Morricone won best original score for The Hateful Eight, Inside Out won best animated feature, and something other than Mad Max: Fury ( Read more... )

Depends on what you intend to buy over there. If it were a short trip, I'd say you were forgetting

Toothbrush/paste
Shampoo/gel/whatever hair products
Hand/body/face creams (sunblock?)
Nightie/PJs
House slippers
Shower gel/sponge
Screwdriver for glasses screws
Houserobe

Good luck with the move! (And please write from there 😀)

Seriously, I had no idea it was this common for people to bring like... shampoo and stuff?? hahahhaha 8D Ever since they banned liquids on airplanes, I just buy that shit as/if needed when I arrive. Same goes for toothpaste and any other liquids.

PJs is a good addition, though, I'll remember to pack a comfy one!

In Japan you can get your glasses fixed for freeeeeeee (just pop into any shop that sells glasses, and they'll happily clean, tighten, check whatever for free :D). No more self-repair on my glasses XD;;;

Thanks! There's supposed to be internet in the place I've booked, so if all goes well, I plan to update regularly :)

Pjs or sleepwear?
Will you be buying personal cleaning stuff there? (Toothbrush, deodorant, etc)

Yesss PJs is a good addition!

Toothpaste+brush is cheaper over there than here, so I'd rather get it there than carry the extra weight. It's not that I can bring a year's worth of product anyway ;) Hahaha.

LOL you're the first person who has been like yeah, Chris Rock! :P I skipped it, but need to go do a red carpet picture look up - the gowns are always my favorite part :)

Omg is it time already??! That flew by! You seem pretty prepared, as prepared as you can be, at least. So exciting!

I didn't watch the Oscars, I don't have an antenna to pick up free stations so I can only watch streaming :). Care looks like the Elven queen she is. I still love that my Uncle once said she reminded him of me.

Yesss on Sunday O___O; Sunday morning, I need to get up so early ohhhh lol.

Hahah I was lucky in that one of the Scandinavian TV channels that I happen to have legal access to was going to air it (probably because a Danish film was up for Best Picture). Of course, 2 hours before the show, the whole channel went down. IT WAS INTENSE. But they got their shit sorted before the actual show began. So it's all good. XDDD Woah, such a compliment!!!! Your uncle seems like an awesome person :DDDD

Finding good deodorant in Japan can be a pain so if that's important to you, you might want to bring some. Obviously you can buy most of your toiletries there, but it might be a good idea to bring some travel size ones just so you don't have to rush out and buy them all right away and have time to settle in first. Painkillers in Japan are kind of terrible too so good thing you're already planning to bring some XD

But yeah, most of what I brought along was clothes. Just make sure you have enough variety for all the seasons. I also brought some pictures to hang on the wall of my friends and family, not sure if that's something you might want to do as well.

Haaah! That's true. Though I tend to find that my BO only gets noticeable/worse if I use Norwegian deodorant while there, at least during summer! I can't remember what it was like during autumn .... I could probably pack one just in case, to experiment XD ( ... )
