Chilled Over Ice

I switched to the new version of LJ, and ... I am really liking it. I'm now spending time really testing things out, looking for bugs, and sending in tons of feedback~ Some things are a little annoying and inconsistent, but I hope they'll see that this needs fixing when the new version is released and forced on everyone ( Read more... )

day babble, oslo lol, lj, livejournal

It's sad, I want more interaction! It's scary and weird that ONTD seems to be the one thing that keeps the English speaking userbase afloat here D: uuugh why.

Hahahha! I ended up not going outside today, though 8D mmmmm lazy Sundays.

I'm so sad that LJ isn't as poppin' as it used to be!

I actually don't mind the changes that lj has been giving us :O My big deal is that they changed the profile/layout without telling us beforehand, but it's actually pretty okay? Just taking some time to get used to, but not bad at all!

I know, righttttt! I see that thequestionclub is still a thing, so I think I'll go be more active over there. Maybe I'll meet some fun new people in the process.

I really did not care for Horizon/Vertigo, but this brand new site scheme? Ungh, super sleek. I like it a lot. Even though some of the UI elements still suffer from being oversized, it sort of works better now. We'll see what they do with the feedback they receive. I really like the new userinfos. Having all the stats off to the side mmmm looks good 8D
I EVEN LIKE THE NEW FRIENDS FEED now that they have updated it along with the new site scheme. It looks really good. I wish I could make my journal follow the same style.

yeah, i don't get why some people really hate the new layout. the only major difference i can see that may upset people is that it now involves drop menus.

"Norwegians just do not know how to behave in public" lol really? in what ways?

The old layout had drop down menus as well, but these new ones are more functional. I don't know - some of the UI elements don't really match the new layout YET, but considering it's still a public BETA I hope and trust they'll be ironing out the little inconsistencies before launch. I'm having fun reporting all my feedback.

"Norwegians just do not know how to behave in public" lol really? in what ways?Ugh, I've written whole posts about this in the past, but just... we're so obnoxious. We take up the entire pavement when walking (often insisting on walking 4+ people side by side and not letting anyone pass), people hack up spit and spit everywhere, people really do not know how to line up for things and just lump together in front of exits, checkout areas, wherever they see fit and hope for the best (and if things aren't going their way, the scream and shout until they get their way anyway). Add heat and people sitting outside drinking beer all day.... uuuuuuugh. And there's the football world cup now as well ashdfjhsdkjfhsaj ugh ( ... )

well, if it makes you feel any better, that behavior sounds very similar to many americans. actually, that probably doesn't make you feel better. lol sorry! though in america, if a line gets out of order there's at least one person who will tell the disorderly people that there is a line and they need to get to the back of it.

I like the new site scheme too, more than I liked the last overhaul. I've been sending in feedback to address formatting and bugs, though most of what I sent was covered in that news post they did a few weeks ago about what they're working on. So if they address those things, I'll be pretty okay with it. Hell I might even go back to being a paid user, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, haha.

It makes me sad how quiet lj is these days, though I don't really blame people for leaving with the shitty customer service over the years. Nowadays I go to TV websites for fandom discussions (since 'discussions' can't really happen on Tumblr) and I guess people talk about their daily lives so much on Twitter/FB they have no need for a journal? Idek.

Yeah, absolutely. The various Horizon overhauls were trainwrecks.

Yeah, I don't know either. I find LJ very therapeutic, and the interaction here is completely unlike anything else I've seen on the web. I hope they'll be able to remarket themselves and get the word out there. It seems they are starting to take this project seriously again now XDD I'll be following the development with keen interest.
