So, after nearly a decade at this site, LJ finally does something that makes me actually rage. No popcorn and laughing as the masses storm to news posts complaining, this time I'm actually worried.

A while back I was invited to help out with BETA testing new LJ services (I got this invite via lj_releasesThey have just announced BETA testing of a new ( Read more... )

The reason you are able to switch back and forth between the new and old version of the update page, is because it's currently in "public beta testing". Once the testing is over, bye-bye old style (unfortunately).

Comment over at lj_releases, it is (unfortunately) our only outlet to voice our opinions on these matters :/

I DELIBERATELY have a black themed and customized layout so I DON'T have to see all that white space or the default style of the site at all. I don't want infinite scrolling. I DON'T WANT THIS SHIT. I don't care what they do to the site so long as I don't HAVE to follow it. One of the reasons why this place use to be so popular is because it allowed for customization so well. UGH.

NO NO NO NO

NO

Do I really need to crawl out of my den of "no energy to internets" to complain about this before shit even hits the fan?!

I've disliked many changes LJ has done throughout the year, most of which haven't been bothersome enough to even mention though. The redone comment page has probably been the only one I've actually struggled with... And this is SO MUCH WORSE. Having your friendspage look and function the way you need it to is such an important feature.

Thank you for posting about this; I'll have to look into the beta testing and see if I could actually join in on leaving feedback. I'm not feeling terribly optimistic about them listening to any of it, though.

edit: wtf is this repost thing what is even happening here :----D

Your icon is how I feel forever. +1 Young Ones. So eloquent in their distaste.
