I think that Obama art is actually an Amish depiction, not Jewish.

Considering the lack of an E, though, it could be a highly inaccurate image of a message against Asian immigration?

=^..^=~

The Amish take is interesting, but there is an "E" there. If you look closely, you can see that the stencil is actually coloured in twice, but for whatever reason, neither attempt came out complete. The whole wall was covered in various attempts at getting it right, the "E" was clearly visibly in some of these.

Ah ha. . . you're right. If I tilt my screen just right, the E is sort of there.

I still think it's an Amish image. I don't see the Jewishness of it. Amish aren't really known for change, either. You kind of get one chance when you're about 18, I think, and you can leave if you want. The Jewish stereotype image would have curls on the sides of his head.

Or maybe it's different where you are. I have no idea. Why is Obama even on the wall in the first place? American graffiti artists?

*Gasp* what a gorgeous country! I really, really want to move there someday, except to the Stavenger area.

Is it normal to have dead animals in your petshops? O_o

Stavanger is far prettier than Oslo, I support this decision ;)

Hahahaha what, no. Absolutely not. It's also not common to put animals on display in shop windows.

Thanks! Though Christian took these, so I can't really take any credit ;D

Haha, basically no one in Norway speaks any of the written languages 8] We are forced to learn both in school (nynorsk follows different grammar rules than bokmål, so this get complicated really fast), though there's a forever ongoing debate on whether this should be changed. There are just a couple of counties who use nynorsk as their standard written language, the rest of us use bokmål.

I didn't know that Norwegian had two written languages, how strange. How many Norwegian accents are there? Are they as varied as English accents?

How many Norwegian dialects there are? Hundreds I would guess. A huge part of Norwegian lessons in upper secondary school is just studying various dialects and recognising what makes them different. We also learn how to geographically place people based on their dialect, it's kind of neat 8] I'm pretty good with languages and dialects, but there are some Norwegian dialects I just can't understand.
