At 11:35 today, an e-mail made its way to my inbox at work.

"Hello everyone,
there's going to be an event at Youngstorget at noon, people are gathering to sing out against terror. I'm going, anyone want to join me?"

Before I knew it, I was out of my seat and making my way through the rain to go sing Barn av regnbuen (Children of the Rainbow)

Oh Twiss, this is so lovely to read. The trial's been getting a tonne of press over here too and although it's calmed down a little, when it first started it was just awful. I really objected to the BBC covering it so widely. Isn't it a shame that the 'positive' coverage like the event you went to, just won't get the same press? And just like when the killings first happened, you Norwegians remain dignified. I salute you.

Thank you :] This event seems to have interested the international press too - I've seen a couple of different news articles about it now.

Our main TV channel has daily countdowns to the next live broadcast from the trial :/ it really is too much.

Awesome! :D It makes me happy that the international press cares to report on events like this as well.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to go. Noon on a regular weekday... still 40 000 people showed up - and there were similar events in other Norwegian cities too!

Oh goodness, this was a nice read. I'm actually glad to be reading about this instead of just hearing it off of some news broadcast or something. The news always tends to make it seem not real... But thank you for sharing and just wow. <3
