I don't even know what Lion ist. *fail* But that Launchpad thingy you have - I have something similar called RocketDock. You know, I am using desktop wallpapers and I want FREE SIGHT onto the pretties and not clutter my desktopn with programs and files. That nifty gadget is perfect for me and people keep asking me how the heck my desktop could possibly look so clean when my hard drive is crammed full of stuff... XD Aside from that, I have a weather gadget and a world clock gadget on my screen, both pretty handy for me. Now I just wish I could find the "You don't know Jack" game for Win7 ... I dug out my old CD the other day, but it isn't compatibel anymore. God, I loved that game...
Aww xD; It's the latest version of the Mac OS. All the Mac OS versions have been given cat family names. I first started out on Panther, after that it's been Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, and finally Lion. The next version will be Mountain Lion. It's kind of corny, but I like it better than it just being a bunch of numbers. XD;;
Yeah, Macs come with something called Dashboard which has all sorts of little neat widgets available at the push of a keyboard button - calculator, weather, currency/length/weight converter, world clock, calendar etc. It's neat :D
I'm terrible at just leaving stuff on the desktop. I've created a folder system and plenty of shortcuts to prepare for future heavy use. Hopefully I won't paint myself into a corner again.
I need to clean my desktop like whoa!! I have 6 layers of "desktop" folders I keep shoving things in- what a mess!! I wish I had the disks to reinstall windows, my computer needs a good clearing!
I feel you! XD;;; You should definitely get it done if you can, the feeling you're left with is amazing. Not to mention the improvement in system performance :P
