IKR I'm going to London tomorrow, and even though I'm going by train all the people who booked flights will be trying the train now too so it'll be one huge mess, ack!
The news seemed to imply that this might take a while to clear up D:.
At least you are going by train and actually have a ticket for it~! 8D Try not to worry about everyone else, even though... yeah. That train will probably be packed D:
People here seem to have no idea how long the planes will be grounded for, and some articles say that the volcano eruption will continue on for a year 8D Hahaha. That would be fun. Of course, it's quite possible that even if the eruption were to last that long the ash cloud would disappear before that... but I have no idea. I'm not a geophysicist <,<;;
I know! We'll just get there a bit earlier than usual and hopefully the chaos won't affect us so much.
The news said something like 'a week or several weeks' for it to clear up. It wasn't an interview with a geophysicist though so I can't be sure. But it does seem like it'll be affecting us for a while.
Yeah, apparently Britain will get the most trouble with these ash clouds :x And judging by weather reports, the wind direction and strength won't exactly help the matter. Aaah. xD; We'll all just have to stay patient, I guess
Desperate people are taking taxis from Oslo to Stockholm and such, spending thousands and thousands of NOK just to get to where they have to be D: Car rental businesses cranked up their prices, and most/all long distance trains are fully booked. Good times. The NRK news show tonight was just spectacularly crazy.
My friend was supposed to be flying in from London tomorrow and is beside herself with frustration now that Heathrow is totally shut down. It sure sucks to have to postpone plans like this :(
Iceland is a hardcore sort of place and it must have needed to remind the rest of Europe, and the world for that matter, of this fact.
