Working on my third obligatory assignment~ This has been the most entertaining text so far, but I'm afraid it needs a lot of work. I would choose "is all gone now" over "has all been spent now..." don't ask, it just 'sounds' better to me.
I'd also choose "every" over "good" when talking about reason to be upset. Again, it's just the flow.
I saw it at some film club sounds better.
They remind me of sickness is better.
Everyone and his brother sounds better too. That country sounds like a helluva place! But then America is pretty odd too if you really examine us and our traditions a little further.
So I don't understand some of the references you explained later, but that's just a matter of an "injoke" really. You did a great job. I 'get' the point of the text better--it's fun and rambling and very stream-of-consciousness. Great fun!
PS: I am going to be better about helping you out with these--I had fallen behind, I know.
