I never did finish Terranigma (so many years ago...). Maybe I still have the save file for my rom tucked away on my computer somewhere, so I can carry on where I left off :)
:D It is quite a sweet story to tell anyway~ Illusion of Gaia keeps getting better and better :x I wonder how the English translation is... maybe I should get a rom just to compare XD;;
Illusion of Gaia is the second in a series of games starting with Soul Blazer/Soul Blader (unless you count Actraiser as the first in the series).
And the series is unofficially called "The Blazer Series" or "The Blazer Wars" and consists of "Soul Blazer", "Illusion of Gaia", "Terranigma", and "The Grandstream Saga" on Playstation 1.
Yes, I know that it's a series of games :) That's why I was so excited to find Illusion of Gaia in Paris~ ♥ I briefly tried Soul Blazer once (downloaded a rom), but I was a bit disappointed with the graphics, and could never really get into it :x Ooh and I have ActRaiser as well, though for the Wii as a Virtual Console download ^^
Had no idea these games were released for the PS1 as well, though o_o; What, really?
Oh Piplup, you look extra adorable in this picture. I'm so glad you found Terranigma. It looks fun, I might have to play the ROM just to see what it's like.
Also I found a site that lets you play BattleLore online through a program called VASSEL. Maybe someday we can play a game of it.
You should definitely get a rom and try this out. It is the best action RPG I've ever played... it's the one game I compare all other games to xD; The English version is riddled with odd translation mistakes, but I feel it just adds to the charm ^^;
Ooh, online BattleLore sounds like tons of fun (if not a bit competitive and scary xDD;)
I definitely will, since it's free and I have a good USB controller. I notice no difference between ROMs and the real games, but you mentioned you felt it wasn't the same. How exactly?
I've only looked into VASSEL briefly, but I believe there is no pool of available players like Settler's of Catan has at asobrain. I think you have to schedule games with people. Here is a site I found that's specifically for people to set up BattleLore games with each other over VASSEL. I still haven't played BattleLore and don't know how. I tried to watch the Board Games With Scott episode about it but I just started surfing the web instead.
I got addicted to online Settler's of Catan though. I've played 141 games of it in the past 2 weeks.
Find a rom and play it~ it's such a charming game, lots to discover and do. It blew my child brain, and continues to amaze me today (even though I've beat it a billion times by now xD;;;). By far the best action RPG I've ever played.
Chrono Trigger was never released in Europe :x planning on picking up the recent DS remake, though because it looks amazing.

Never played ActRaiser.
Yeah, I know! My friend has the game and told me about it. I was totally envious!
