My first thought on the CD/DVD problem is to reboot, and hold down the eject key as the while the Apple logo is on the screen. The bootloader should eject the disc, if there's one in there. Although you'd usually be able to hear it, wouldn't you?
Finally upgrading from the standard 256MB that came with the machine
I just tried restarting whilst holding down the eject button XD It seemed like a good idea, but uhm. No result. And there really doesn't sound like there's anything in there.. I should have noticed by now o_o; It's been months since I last played a cd or dvd in my laptop. Aaaugh. I really don't want to take it to be looked at only.. 3 weeks before going to Japan o___o;
I KNOW! But now I'm getting.. loads of ram. See, Christian's old powerbook went bye-bye, he upgraded to a new shiny macbook so.. I'm getting the ram from the powerbook :D Score! XD
I had called my old iBook 'Shiori', after Shiori Kitano from Battle Royale II, because she's pictured using an iBook at the start of the film. Also, it's incredibly close to 'shiroi'... Japanese for white?
Haha, wow xD I can't believe you got the reference 8D I loved the Stargate movie when I was a kid, and thought that Shauri was the most beautiful name in the world o_O; I dunno. I guess it was the first thing I thought of when I first started up my iBook 8D
Uhm~ I don't think I have any quick paperwork finishing vibes. Just.. "omg, I'm finished"-vibes xD I've been dealing with these papers and applications and whatnot since May 8DDD;;; Or.. was it even before that? I can't remember anymore xD
Just trust me when I say that getting it all out of the way feels heavenly.

Okay, I have to ask... what does Shauri refer to? Daniel Jackson's wife?
