Good luck! I didn't know that you had to go to Japan in order to keep studying :o What'll happen if you don't make the cut? Will you have to try again next semester/year?

Yeah, it's really stupid. Japansk3 is only offered in Japan, they don't have any alternative at UiO. Then Japansk4 is taught at UiO and err.. needless to say, you need Japansk3 before applying for Japansk4 so bah. It sucks. If you don't get to go now, you'll have to wait a whole year, go through Japansk2 again and hope for the best @__@ (that's how I understand it at least). They are working on some rules that'll make this better in the future, though. For example enkeltemnestudenter won't be allowed to apply for Japanese at all. It'll only be open to program students. Had this been in effect now, half our class or more would have been out -___-;

It also doesn't help that everyone in our class is super-motivated to go and the average results on the weekly tests are 92% or so. Everybody are doing really well. There's only a difference of 3 points or so between number 1 and number 2 on the class rank. A total of perhaps 10 points difference between rank 1 - 5. It's crazy.

Thank you ♥ Yesh, it sounds like so much fun! The class above us who went there last semester just came back and have started sharing stories about their experiences and such, and of course it fires up everyone in my class and makes everyone 100% more motivated on going xD;;

It is really stupid that they don't have an alternative for the third semester here in Norway for those who don't get to go. They've never really had this problem before, though. Usually 33 spots is enough. The Japanese class at UiO has never been as large as ours, and never has the level of it been so high. :/

Me too! :D I can't believe she was gone for a year @___@;; It's good to have her back, even though she isn't completely back yet.

X_X yes, it sucks muchly. The reason for this is that the third semester of the Japanese studies at UiO are only available in Japan, they don't have any alternatives for it in Oslo.. so bah. If you want to apply for Jap4, you need to pass Jap3 first, and that needs to be take in Japan. Whoo~~ -__-;;
