I have to admit, I do think Isabela has a point that Esme can't just send them to their room like disobedient children. It doesn't matter that she's the mother figure because they are still adults. I think that it would have worked better if Esme threatened to kick Edward and Bella out of the Cullen clan.

And as for Renesme not contributing to the family income...Carlisle only works because he likes to. They get all their money by Alice playing the stock market using her visions.
