I love this fic. It's so nice seeing Charlie act like a real parent. I hate how in YA the parents are nonexistent. It reeks of lazy writing. Charlie kicking Bella out was harsh, but she is really hard to feel sympathy for. Now I want to finish my fic where Charlie finds out about Bella's Port Angeles stunt.

Oh, yeah. He'd be furious about the Port Angeles business. Endangering herself and another girl? That would not be okay.

And yes, you're right. It is harsh. A billion or so bad things could happen to Bella. I think Charlie's hoping that this will teach her that there are limits to what she can do and consequences to her actions. (Though of course he'll worry, because she's his kid.)

And thank you! I'm so glad you liked it!

Bella needs to learn the consequences of her actions. And I always love your fics. I'm just glad I figured out what I was doing wrong with the LJ cut so I can post my spitefics.

Thanks!

I've never known a cop who couldn't be a badass parent at times. (And considering how I write Charlie and Esme, obviously I like the strict ones.)

Bella deserved this considering all she did to Charlie. I don't think it was too harsh at all. Very well done.

Hallelujah. Finally, Charlie kicks Bella out and completely demolishes her with his words of truth.

/Maybe you could become a professional movie reviewer. They seem to do both a lot."/

Are there any professional movie critics that you have in mind, or you meant just in general? ;)

/I'm not prepared to live through the emotional Siege of Leningrad a second time/

Historical reference for the win!

/She adopted a look that she clearly thought would make him sympathetic-sad, soulful eyes turned toward Heaven and a tragic expression that said he was making her life impossibly hard, but that she forgave him anyway. She reminded Charlie of a beagle he'd owned once./

*snorts* Good for Charlie that he didn't fall for that nonsense.

/"Frankly, Bella...I don't give a damn."/

Perfect ending! Too bad that Bella couldn't take a page from Scarlett O'Hara's book and learn that being a spoiled princess can't save her from the woes of the world.

Professional movie critics in general. (It's a profession that encourages complaining, much as it really helps to be an anal-retentive nitpicker if you're an editor.)

Historical reference for the win!

Thanks! I'm sure that Bella had no clue what he was talking about, but that's Bella.

Oh, I WISH she would!

Woot for cool, kicking *** Charlie!

I'm so glad you didn't have him yell. It seems tempting, but it might have made Bella sympathetic.

Thank you very much!

I didn't think about it making Bella more sympathetic; rather, I thought that Charlie losing his temper would indicate that a)he wasn't in control and that b) he might not stand by his decision to throw Bella out once he had calmed down.
