This was fabulous! I love it when people take the characters that Meyer just wrote as throw aways (because despite Esme being a Cullen, she's barely in the books) and making them realistic and badass.

And hooray for Esme for slapping Alice! Lord knows she needed it.

Thank you! It just made sense to me--Esme is continually described as a wonderful mother. Well, being a wonderful mother doesn't mean giving your kids their way all the time. Sometimes it means coming down on them hard and standing fast even if they're screaming and swearing they hate you.

Thank you! I have a real soft spot for strong women who won't stand for any bullshit. And since Esme is supposed to be the ideal mother...hey, the ideal parent doesn't comply with the kids' wishes 100% of the time. (Even if Alice thinks that Esme should.)
