Today I became an official full-time employee at Maersk Line (formerly Maersk Sealand), which is the company i've been temping for since graduation.

i work in the government department, and my division of the department deals with exporting military household goods. so when someone in the military has an assignment overseas, we're responsible for transporting the personal goods (household stuff, cars, etc) of that person and their family. right now, my main job function is to make sure that all the cargo in that division is where it's supposed to be, when it's supposed to be there, to ensure that it loads the vessel and sails where it's supposed to sail.

i'm also being trained to take bookings, so that when people call in and say "i need to ship this from here to here," i'll be the person that sets them up.

oh, and my official title is "government coordinator."

i hope that's not confusing..it took me like 2 weeks to figure out what the hell i was doing and even longer to figure out how to explain it!
