Wrench of Inspiration #49: The 2013 Winter Holiday Edition
Welcome to the 2013 Winter Holiday Edition of Wrench of Inspiration (aka #49). Given the upcoming holidays, I'm adjusting the prompts accordingly, which I hope doesn't disappoint too many. As always, these are only prompts, not a challenge, and as such, there is no timeline involved.
1. Songs...
a. White Christmas - clip from the movie of the same title with Bing Crosby. Lyrics here.
b. Candlelight (Hanukkah) by Maccabeats. Lyrics here.
c. Walking in a Winter Wonderland - lyrics embedded, by Amy Grant.
d. Auld Lang Syne by Julie Andrews. Lyrics (Traditional Song and Modern English Translation) here.
2. Writing Challenges...
a. One Sentence fics (since this seems to be the most popular challenge)! 15 of them to be exact... one sentence per each of the following words: jolly, mistletoe, snowman, eggnog, fireworks, resolution, dreidel, candle, myrrh, yorkshire, nutcracker, eight, solstice, blizzard, duvet
b. Fics of any size length centering around one (or more of these themes/quotes)
- 'Baby, it's cold outside'
- 'It's the best time of the year'
- 'A candle cannot burn without fire'
- 'Then the drink takes you'
I hope to see some great fic/art pieces!
To refresh your memory (or for newbies), don't forget that the Wrench of Inspiration is a series of prompts to get you over writer's block or give you some new ideas you've never thought of. There are no time limits involved, and there have been some pretty awesome prompts in earlier issues, especially kinky prompts in the comments.
