Let's try this again...goldn_boyNovember 29 2010, 22:54:15 UTC
Today, the Jims had split up. It didn't make much difference--they were one and the same, up until the morning they'd woken up separate--and they'd wanted to see what happened apart. So when the one they were calling Jim spotted Derek, he jogged to catch up.
"Hey," he called. "Did you get in touch with Deb?"
Derek jerked his head around at the approaching footsteps. It was Kirk. One of them. Or maybe the whole Marvel comic deal had ended. He picked up a rock and hurled it at a trash can... and watched that trash can move a good eight feet when the rock connected. Powers were still on.
"Not yet." He glanced around for 'Thing Two' before resting his eyes back on the Kirk in front of him. "Have you seen her?" Derek asked with a voice yet sporting a light concern on his brow.
Jim shook his head. "I haven't," he said. "I would have written something to her, but I was trying to give her some time." He looked around, to where Derek had been looking, and then figured it out. "Oh, we split up. I mean, not emotionally or anything. Just seeing what happens when we're on our own."
He paused, as if unsure how to put this.
"You don't have to tell me," he said finally, "but in a rough outline... what happened?"
His shoulders began a slow rise from tension at Jim saying he would've have written to Deb. Derek was sure the Captain meant via a journal. However, the Fed didn't bother to comment on it. He nodded at Kirk when the whereabouts of the other was mentioned.
Morgan looked away again when Jim inquired about the night that Derek and Deb found themselves sequestered to a honeymoon suite. "Didn't peg you the type to kiss and tell." The words were said with a light tease to them. Derek brought his gaze back to Jim and raised a brow in a knowing expression.
He also held a slight smirk, but as a whole, Morgan mostly conveyed an awkward disposition. It didn't help matters that the shorts he wore had no pockets for his hands to hide in. Jim couldn't miss the wedding band on his left hand. "We arrived back at midnight the day before yesterday. I walked her up to her room. Haven't seen her since."
