Instead he found the Trickster.
Unlike Dean, Sam didn't share his brother's amusement at the demigod's idea of poetic justice, and he wasn't particularly amused to find him here. In fact, he was starting to think that maybe this was all the Trickster's doing, and they just had to find the hole in the joke, but he wasn't sure yet. Instead he just stopped, stared for a moment, then pointed.
"Didn't we gank you?"

He tilted his head at Sam, with a bored expression plastered on the face, "I'm the Trickster, shit for brains. Of course you didn't."
That honor went to Lucifer, apparently.

Sam rolled his eyes at the comment, before holding up a hand and gesturing to Peaksville around them. "This all you? Because if it is, it's really not funny."
He figured he should at least cover a base by asking. If it wasn't the Trickster ... then he wasn't sure he wanted to know what it was. The Trickster was at least something he could fight, but if this West guy brought him here, it means it's more powerful than he is. He wasn't sure if he wants to get on the bad side of whatever would kidnap a Trickster and drop them here. But he was probably going to wind up doing it anyway.
It is, after all, the Winchester way.

He went with the truth, hoping he could play the pity card. Might work. Especially if this was a younger Sam.
"No. This isn't my work. It is quite good though. I'm almost tempted to say it is." Gabe shrugged.
