Such was the continuous influx of data flashing across the new arrival's mind. A constant stream of error messages, diagnostic results and unsatisfactory repair attempts. No sooner had one line of analysis displayed than it was immediately shunted up to make way for the next one.
Internally, the machine registered as functional. Even if in a drastically downgraded form from those of its standard factory settings.
But externally the world was registering as confused static. Only glimpses of broken, frozen images and delayed audio were shining through. Even the ability to differentiate chemical scents seemed to be failing.
All of which was putting it at a severe disadvantage

"It's no problem, I needed the fresh air anyway," Max returned, her hands buried into the pockets of her purple hooded sweatshirt. She stayed with Jim on the walk up, making no comment in response to the other things until they got to where they were going.

"I'm having... Trouble."
A simple declaration, although not quite phrased right for natural human interaction. Not relaxed.
"Jim," it said, yet looked at Max. His image falling upon her admist the static, only to realign and cause 'Samantha' to look upwards, then just to the right. "Jim," she addressed, a second time, but was looking at air.
"I'm..." Concern was intensifying and registered with a crease of brow. "Confused. Please stay still."

"It is," he said. "So you're Samantha. Sorry again you found yourself here--I wouldn't wish it on anyone."
She looked frustrated and disoriented, which was only natural.
