Finally, this place was getting interesting. Someone else had arrived that had... been fictional back home. Plus, it was a boy. And someone who had been from California. It was some seriously crazy coincidences, even she couldn't deny it. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but boy, was she curious.

Dawn took the stairs two at a time, hurrying from the second floor. Stopping just short of the door, she paused, taking a breath and running a hand through her hair. Why didn't she think to look in the mirror before running out of her room? Oh, right, that would require thinking.

Whatever. Squaring her shoulders, she stepped out the front door.
