It's official -- I'll be going back to Hogwarts as soon as the holidays are over. As it turned out, there was an opening for a Defense Against the Dark Arts assistant, and I wasn't sure if I'd get the job -- but I did, and I start at the beginning of next term. I'm looking forward to the work; it's exciting, it's something akin to what I've wanted ( Read more... )

Well you see, that's the trouble with being in a secret organization Summerby...it has to be a secret. I knew Cho was being excessively bubbly lately, I guess this must be the hidden reason eh? Well welcome to the Order then mate, and heh, welcome to the world of assistant teaching.

I suppose you could relate Cho's bubbly nature to your presence moreso than mine, but that's your call to make.

And thank you for the welcome, Jack, it's much appreciated.

I... Thanks Jon. I'm going home with Draco though, this time. But you'll be at school now? Teaching? Maybe you could give me more dance lessons.

I'll come find you. Soon. I still wear the necklace.

I thought as much. Still, the offer's there, if you ever need it.

Yes, I'll be teaching. Assistant, really, but I don't doubt Professor Weasley will be wanting some time free to plan his wedding soon enough.

...I'll be here. And I can still feel the necklace when you wear it.

Well, at least you're honest about it. I'll keep my wand ready.

My, my, the Headboy so soon? I guess trying to get anywhere in life as a mudblood-loving traitor was harder than you thought.

I am sure the younger, more suggestible students are thrilled by the prospect of having yet another assistant trying to help.

Do try to contain your excitement, Mr. Malfoy. Who knows, perhaps one day you'll be needing my help as well.

I see no situation where I could ever possibly be in need of your assistance. The younger years seem to be in greater need to help and the older years, especially the 7th years, should have learned enough by now to get by on their own.

Except Longbottom, who will probably never learn anything.

And yet, this is the boy who misspelled 'Merlin' on his last essay. Might I suggest that you treat your teacher's assistants with a tad more respect, little Draco.
