Oh, no, no, no. Joe, my friend, you're not from the East Coast, see. Florida is ~not~ The South. :) To many East Coasters, Florida is kinda its own thing, but it's not considered part of The South to a lot of people. So I rather get from this person may be coming from. :)

Okay, Florida is South NY. You see, all the old farts (Yes, my parents live there too...) live there. The more lively ones travel back and forth and are called either snowbirds or snowflakes depending on how often they travel. So I can sorta understand that comment...
