Putting her camera back into her tote bag, Ariel entered The Lucky Cricket. She had only come to Chinatown once before, just once, during a school fieldtrip about...she could not remember what it was, for the place had been too fascinating to pay attention to their guide. It had been good to get away from the city for once. (And also her undone assignments.) Here she was again, coming to Chinatown on impulse, taking photos of the place, escaping city life for once. Or maybe she could pick up some souvenirs, or an inspiration for her next crafting project.

Exhausted after hours of walking around, photographing mostly tiny little objects rather than the entire street, Ariel stepped into the bustling restaurant, where orders whizzed past her head and children ran to different tables to play with the other children. She was a little unused to this large a crowd, but it was certainly a beautiful picture altogether.

Standing near the entrance, Ariel glanced around awkwardly, wondering if there were actually any seats left.

It felt odd to Alice, and slightly rude, to occupy the only free two-person table by her onesome. Naturally, it couldn't be helped, not with the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. She certainly hadn't anticipated such a clamor; from outside, it looked like a charming little oasis, calm and quiet as a lake. She hadn't expected the torrential downpour of people inside, but by then she was already being elbowed and kneed to a table, and it would appear crass to change her mind.

Her eyes skimmed the menu, recognizing sharp and slanting symbols as Chinese. Alice couldn't read Chinese, of course, but she'd seen books written in the stamp-like letters and often tried to understand them anyway. Even the translated words on the paper didn't make much sense to her. Chop suey, chow mein, wonton... She'd never heard such nonsensical words outside of dreams. Perhaps the Mad Hatter would appreciate some ginseng at his next tea party ( ... )

Still glancing around, taking very slow steps, carefully avoiding the children chasing each other at the speed of light, Ariel was still looking for a seat. She stumbled a little as a pair of boys crashed right into her and apologised. She grinned at them, then looked around some more ( ... )

Alice smiled as Ariel took a seat. Up close, she was very pretty, and had a certain air about her that Alice liked. Inquisitive, somewhat out of place. She might even use the word royal, like a queen - no, no, more like a princess, with a striking scarlet crown. A lovely Red Princess ( ... )

"I'm fine, thank you. And how do you do?" Ariel felt a little strange at returning the polite greeting, for it was not every day that she was polite. She was nice, but most of the time, on impulse, she often jumped straight into questions.

Ariel found Alice's words strange, not in a bad way, but in an interesting way. Being lost, to Ariel, was not exactly a bad thing though. "It isn't necessarily a bad thing to get lost, I think." Ariel said cheerfully. "One never knows what one might find while lost. I guess it leads to some degree of trouble but most of the time it turns out okay. I mean, if there's a way to get lost, there must be a way to come out of being lost ( ... )

Freya was not one to eat out often, but the lack of food in the house had prompted her to take a walk about and see if she was interested in any restaurants. She had stopped in front of a charming little Chinese building ( ... )

The evening was getting busier and busier. Good thing she was use to it or there would be plates shattering to the floor. Not to mention a very angry mother.

She soon eyed a lone woman at the table that was seemingly reading. The Chinese girl quickly pulled out her notepad from the front pocket.

Mulan gave a light smile and nodded, "Sure thing. One Vegetarian delight." She quickly scribbled down the woman's order, "Would you like anything else? Appetizers? A drink?"

Freya watched as the young woman pulled out a notepad and wrote hastily in it, a talent all waitress seemed to posses.

Her brows knitted, and Freya thought for a moment.

"I don't think so, but thank you. And as for a drink..." Her voice trailed off as her eyes passed over the menu again.

"Well, I've never been here before. Any suggestions?"
