My partner says that Mass Effect 2 is the best game he's ever played. He also has a thing for stars in general, so he's a bit biased.

So far it's really enjoyable as hell to play. If Dragon Age 2 is as much a step up from the original as I'd heard this was from Mass Effect, it's going to be a good year.
