In an attempt to open the sink this morning, I discovered this odd creature scurrying out of the faucet:

Chimera is edible. It is actually rather good, believe it or not. I have some jerky, still, if you need something to eat.

Please forgive my impertinence, but what is, 'jerky'?

Oh, no trouble--it is dried meat, usually salted as well. I managed to get a fair amount made after the cleanup, so I can stand to part with some if you need it.

...Is it a meat-preservation technique? How does one get it made here?
