Sanctions which he richly deserves for this abuse of the legal system he has sworn to uphold.

He should have settled when they offered him $3k. I can understand wanting your missing pants back. And I can understand wanting them to pay to replace them. They refused and he sued for the maximum amount allowed under the law. But when they offered him 3 times what he paid for the pants (their first offer other than the "we promise these are the pants we lost", he should have taken it.
