That last paragraph strikes me as the essential question that Spider's Mindkiller series seeks to answer (albeit not The Answer, of course... just his take on what the answer might be).

I haven't read Mindkiller. The question of whether love is a mystery or whether one can love someone through complete understanding is probably a fairly old question. (shrug) Eros' was always a mystery religion, and you'll pardon me for saying so, but the attempts to bring an embodied Love under a so-called "ethical religion" have only caused more misery, war, and hatred than ever existed before them.

Mm. Not quite what I meant - if you haven't read it, that wasn't really enough explanation, sorry :)

The Mindkiller series deals a lot with telepathy and the like, and what the repercussions might be.

Seems that a lot of Spider's stories come back around to telepathy. I'll give it a read, one of these days.
