You know, there are Obama campaign offices in LA. Just go to http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/cahome and find the nearest local office. And Barack isn't asking for a huge obligation. If you only have half an hour to spare after work, just show up, say "I wanna volunteer", and leave when you have to. Every minute you can spare is more than appreciated.
or if you REALLY want to, drive out to one of the battleground offices in Nevada for a weekend. That's like platinum status volunteering.
Oh yea, it's way more fun with a group of friends.
