I think that I prefer the sign-up aspect--frankly, after trying to figure out how to mod 52-flavours I've gone crazy and I let mandy do most of it. There's nothing wrong with wanting your community run a certain way, especially if you find it easier to handle.

I've joined, by the way, but be warned that I'm awful at this sort of thing. The themes however, are fantastic (I'm sorry about helping so little).
