:-( i'm sorry rosie, i know how it feels to lose a pet (i've lost 2 dogs), and it sucks for a long wile, but then you remember the good stuff, and the other stuff fades away.
I was really upset when my rat Gypsy died (respectable old age - she was 2), and especially upset when I had to put my cat Aleister to sleep. Losing a pet doesn't seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but I know how much it can hurt.
I'm so sorry. I hope you're okay. Grieve girl...get it out and you'll start feeling better. I know how much pets become family, rather than just animals.
My grandmother and grandfather owned a cat for 19 years. 114 in human years. That cat was the first animal that didn't run away from me, I loved it just as much. Just remember, however much you loved your bird, it probably loved you and your care even more.

I'm sorry. I just now caught up on LJ this morning, so I didn't see this until right this second. Bright side: no more pain.
