Oh yeah.. Doppler is fantastic, and an especially fine tool for "Nowcasting." ... and yes, that's what it is really called.. Heck, if 80% of what you put out in a day is a nowcast, you'll be batting very close to 100 every single day of the year! ;)

I was really referring to the national networks, however.. and in particular, how they run amok with reporters and anchor-persons playing meteorologist and/or expert.

It's ridiculous, and to my way of thinking, seriously calls into question the rest of the "facts" they present on any number of other subjects.

maybe they were claiming it had the lowest pressure EVER!!! also.
