At last everyone has a story (and one lucky recipient, for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, has two)! Stories are being revealed, and gift notifications should be going out from the AO3 as we speak. If you haven't gotten an email yet, you can check 'My Gifts' on your AO3 dashboard, and your story should be available there

Could someone explain how exactly to edit the published date? It may be AO3 being down 99% of today but I can't see any way to directly edit the date, and a small edit to the fic didn't change the date. Many thanks.

When you're on your story page, click the Edit button, then scroll down just past where you put in all the authors notes and everything.
