I've been worried about this ever since I heard the premise of this series. I'm also worried for Rhys' fate but that's a separate issue. I don't want Jack to die yet I want him to experience mortality again so I'm torn.

I'm not sure how I feel about Jack shagging Doucheboat a couple times. I really want him to shag others - like Esther and Jilly. Rawr!

Well, hopefully it will be Doucheboat just once -- a "one-night stand" was mentioned -- and then some other, cooler guy!

I'm also a bit disappointed about the lower chance of M/F and M/M/F. Why can't we have it all? Oh well.

We can only hope. I wouldn't mind Jack in some M/F/F either. Seriously why can't we totally have it all?? :)

I actually think Doucheboat is only once. I am not even sure that the second one is a boy! Just because Barrowman says that, doesn't mean it's actually so. Ha.

Okay, so I said it in our IM and I'm putting out here for everyone else. There was an interview (Access Hollywood, maybe?) with John where he insinuated that once whatever happened was "fixed" things would go back to normal - meaning everyone who should have died will die.

This leads me to believe that maybe Jack "dies" and isn't in a few episodes, and we're left to wonder if he'll resurrect when they fix the problem. And then Gwen and Rhys and the new characters manage to fix the problem without Jack... and miraculously at the end of the series he comes back.

TADA. We get a dead Jack (and the angst of him being gone), but we get him back in the end.

HAHA God, I am greedy, I don't want that either. I want 10 episodes of Jack. >.>

Me too. If I were the writer, I'd have Jack flashbacks built into the episodes where he was dead... and he'd be in his waistcoat in ALL of them. >.>

HOLY SHIT. NOTHING WOULD GET DONE. EVER.

The part that jumped out at me was that Gwen "has to make the biggest sacrifice of her life." If she has to lose her baby or her husband... *groan*

I don't want to lose Jack, but I don't think we will. I don't want to lose Gwen and her Awesome New Hair or her family either.

HERE'S HOPING FOR THE BEST.

I'd like for whatever sacrifice she makes to include her having agency in it. So something she knowingly and purposefully does, vs. something that's just random/taken from her

Yeah, my biggest fear is they'll make her choose between them. BABY or RHYS. And God knows, we already know what decision she'll make there.

I'm thinking maybe the "biggest sacrifice of her life" may be killing Jack.

Not permanently, probably. Or maybe, I don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised if he's part of it.

I really don't know what to think of this ... I only hope they mean "mortal Jack" in the sense that Jack is, when killed, really dead for some time. From what I can figure from the long trailer the people who get burned or shot don't die at all, they suffer the whole time. What I fear now the most is Gwen's sacrifice. I hope they don't kill Rhys for good in this series (unlie in series 1 where his death was "rewritten" by the opening of the rift) ...
Ah, damn, I guess I should better stop reading spoilers otherwise I won't find the courage to watch the new series ;)

Yeah, I don't know. I think it just means that where everyone else is immortal, he isn't anymore; being that everyone else can die, he's the only man on the planet who can. Which is scary for me because of RTD's willy nilly. And yes I know that they wouldn't kill him off for good, but they have a penchant for letting Jack suffer as much as absolutely possible.

And Gwen's sacrifice. Yep. I've already thrown my theory into the ring and I just hope that I'm wrong.
