There was a particular author I was reading only last night, and I remember wishing I could capture the kind of voluptous, rapturous language that she uses, the kind of juxtaposed images and words that you can actually taste, even though that sounds weird. And now it looks as though I've found another author that can do exactly the same thing! I don't have the time to read the next bit right at this moment, but believe me when I say I'll be looking forward to it later. I just hope that my fic coming up doesn't get left in the dust here (I got the other vampire prompt, lol)! I shall have to try harder. But this is utterly, beautifully lyrical, and I love it.
I'm...wow. I must say, I'm very, very intrigued. And, echoing as I may be the previous comment, I don't think I've ever truly seen this particular style of writing before. I don't know how to explain how it's different than others, really, except that it's very...descriptive, I suppose, except that's not really the write word either. It has a sort...antiquated feel about it (and trust me when I say that's not a bad thing; it's actually meant as a very high form of compliment), but not in the sense that it's outdated, just that it's very -- oh Lord, I'm not making much sense, am I?
*sighs* I guess what I'm saying is -- I really don't know what to say, except that it's vivid to the point of feeling, if that makes any sense, and that, in a way, it's almost...poetic, I suppose -- and considering that it's about Torchwood (love is love, and I do love it, but I'll be the first to admit it's a piece of work), and vampires (see last parenthetical comment), that's quite an accomplishment. And as I said before, however much I may be echoing
( ... )
I think I get what your saying! Although I have to say I'd love to be able to write comments like yours!
I am glad that you're intrigued by this and I hope that you do enjoy the rest of it and I'll be interested to see what you think. Really interested. If you can be bother to comment that is!
Thank you! :) I must say, it's good to know that however tongue-tied I may become when trying to describe things, I do at least manage to get the point across.
And I'll certainly do my best! :) Though, as I suppose you can see, I have commented on a couple of them already...sporadically, admittedly, and in a far less thought-out manner than the first, but that was mostly so I could just get some of the feelings out and finish reading before I went back and said more. :)
