i can understand why USA wants an american Torchwood, it's a cult show, sci-fi, quite popular, DW spin-off. I also get why they'd want an american Being Human, is cultish, is funny, blah blah blah....but this? this is too much....
...an American Chrolli??!!! Not a 'Verbotene Liebe' remake, but an entire show solely about Christian and Oliver

It's defintely good that HBO will do it, everything else will depend on casting.

The remake mania is because Hollywood likes to take the success of one thing and figure a million things like it will be successful. It's why when a movie of a certain type (WWII about ten years back, Twilight now, etc) comes out and is a hit, several pale imitations get thrown together soon after.

Still, HBO is a network that could do this respectfully without it getting torn to pieces. I guess we'll see.

If HBO is doing it, I have a lot of faith in it. HBO has some of the best programming, in my opinion ;)
