Starting this week, I thought we'd try a series of challenges based on tropes -- storytelling conventions that are familiar to the audience. Let's begin with an oldie but a goodie of the plot trope variety:

You're cruel rusty! Encouraging me to spend time on the tv-tropes website - I try to avoid it as much as possible as hours and hours disappear in seconds! Great idea for themed drabbles though.

Bwah! Don't I know it. I try to avoid it, too, but to do the research for this series of challenges, well, you can imagine the hours and hours of thinking "just one more link, then I'll go to bed..."
