I tried watching the show in my pre-BSG days, but thought it was way too cheesy. My friend who recommended SGA to me recommended I try Eureka from the start. It's a lot better when you start at the beginning and know the whole story line. And I adore Zoe - who the icon is of.
Yeah I did follow it. I didn't do all the coloring stuff at the beginning as my cap didn't need it and I didn't like one of the texture layers (or the brush layers) so I took those out. But the overall concept was from there yeah.
I tried it with the icon here too just to see how it worked with some of the blocks being black and white and I then added the lines separating the squares.
It looks good! I also wanted to mess around with the size/count of the squares. Just play with it a little. It seemed like a pretty lengthy tutorial but it looked fun too.
