But has he applied for it? :) There are a few hoops to jump through, including filing an income tax return for, I think, at least 3 years (which, of course, Nikki's brother will have done more than enough!) I don't think G. even has to have income but as long as it's filed, it counts. He will, of course, as he's planning to try to make some money from his art and cartoons, but I don't think it will matter either way. Another mutual friend of ours, Connie, has been resident in Canada for over 50 years or nearly so, and never bothered to apply for citizenship either, just keeps renewing her PR but G. wants to have that Canadian passport.
