Heh! There's a reason I use both my married and unmarried name, and my unmarried name is for everything legal/financial. I am too lazy ;-)

I know what you mean, but i thought about it and realized that it being a pain in the ass to change it was not really a good reason not to do it. (Except for this last piece!) It's still strange using the name and if i have to contact someone by phone at work, outside of this department they don't know me as Williams yet so i have to say the old name at first! It's still odd getting used to the signature! Graham would have been fine if i'd kept my name, but he'd make a remark now and then about it being his first time married and I realized it probably would mean a lot to him and it wasn't crucial that i stay my old name and as i said, no real good reason not to do it.

It wasn't entirely laziness, as I was very attached to my maiden name as it's pretty unique and I'd established my career with it (plus I was proud to have it due to my dad's accomplishments in life - a proud association!)

The fact it would be so hard to change everything just solidified it for me really.

Yes, you have much better reasons for it than I did. My career isn't based on name recognition and my father would not expect me to keep his name, he was more traditional and would have approved of the name change.
