a battlefiel of gaping wounds (Jules/Brady, tiny Jules/Mason)sunsetdawn20February 7 2011, 11:17:41 UTC
In the early morning hours as Brady wakes her with a kiss and flashes her a smile almost rivaling the brightness of the summer sun it's disturbingly easy to believe they are a normal couple. That they are ok. That he is ok. But reality comes crushing back in all too soon.
She hates being scared of him. And she hates that not even her fear can diminish her longing and love. She first fell for his darkness, years ago, barely a dozen moons after her first kill. He'd been living with this since he was 15 - son of a drug addict single mum, beaten by his many stepfather wannabes, caught up in a gang of kids who knew of no way out, he'd been the walking cliché of Hollywood tearjerkers without the obligatory miracle waiting to happen for an uplifting ending. As much as I think Jules is a great character and a good edition to the show I still want Damon to revenge Rose's death, bc Rose was one of the best things about this show. Thanks for writing this.
I can't help it, when it comes down to it I'm a Damon/Katherine girl. I'm still not really buying this 'it's all about Elena now and Katherine can go fuck herself' crap.
The Damon/Katherine relationship is certainly intriguing. And I don't really buy that either. It seems too easy, and goodness knows Damon's never done anything the easy way. (Even when he thinks he is.)
